The US Men’s Basketball team routed Turkey yesterday 114-82, and all I can say is, as Austin Powers would put it…. “YEAH BABY!”
This is what should happen in EVERY single game. I expect the US to take the Gold in Beijing (assuming the team doesn’t keel over from the smog while playing….hmmm, maybe that is what China is counting on?). But I am happy to see that at least LeBron knows how important this is (see story). I won’t be happy even with the Gold medal. I expect the US to win every game by 40. And if it isn’t 40, the US had better at least build up a 40 and then just cruise thru the second half, much like a pick up game. If we (the US) can get back to thumping the rest of the world in the international game (which is different from the NBA rules) it will restore my faith in basketball and I may just start watching the NBA again.
